The Instructions You Need to Properly Brush Your Teeth

Posted .

It’s very important to properly brush your teeth. Did you know it’s common to botch the brushing routine? Well, it’s true. To help you avoid this and have the best brushing routine possible, our dentist, Dr. Reid Marshall, is happy to give you the tips you need. That way you can ensure a proper and effective brushing routine. Those tips are:

-Brush for two minutes every morning and night.

-Use short and gentle strokes as you clean your teeth.

-Be gentle as you brush along the gumline. The gums can become irritated if you brush too hard.

-Make sure to thoroughly clean your hard-to-reach teeth. You should also thoroughly brush any dental restorations you have, like dental crowns or dental implants.

-Use the following techniques as you scrub:

  • Clean the outer surfaces of your upper teeth and then clean the outer surfaces of your lower teeth.
  • Clean the inner surfaces of your upper teeth and then clean the inner surfaces of your lower teeth.
  • Clean the chewing surfaces of every tooth.
  • Clean the surface of the tongue.

-Tilt the brush at a 45-degree angle when you brush.

-Brush with a soft-bristled toothbrush.
